Have upcoming travel plans? You no longer have to leave your furry BFF at home when jet setting around the South. More than ever before, Southern resorts and hotels alike are offering dog-friendly accommodations, and they’re not stopping at simply allowing Fido into your room. Instead of merely tolerating pets, these “homes away from home” are going above and beyond to make your pup feel as welcome as you do. From beds of their own to personalized dog-friendly baked goods, these hotels are pampering pooches so much it will be hard to convince your pup to leave. Pack your bags, grab the leash and hit the road, because here are some of the South’s most dog-friendly accommodations!

Destination: Adairsville, Georgia

Resort: Barnsley Resort

Barnsley Resort in northwest Georgia has the right attitude when it comes to pets: dogs deserve luxury vacations, too. And we’re confident your pup will love Barnsley Resort as much as you do. Situated on 3,000 acres, the resort features more than 10 miles of hiking trails ideal for active canines and their human companions. Beyond providing pet beds, treats, bottled water (!!!) and food and water bowls, the resort also provides pet-sitting services with advance notice. For those travelers who book through the resort’s Pampered Pets for Paws package, Barnsley will donate the usual pet fee to nearby PAWS Atlanta, an area pet rescue.
