Hotel Indigo

Originally named The Pickwick Hotel, Hotel Indigo has been home to a multitude of residents including Medical Arts and an ultra-popular dance club called The Pickwick Club. In 1988, Dr. Donald Kahn, a retired cardiac surgeon turned the dance club into a destination spot, and thus, The Hotel Highland was born. Located in historic Five Points South, The Hotel Highland (soon to be Hotel Indigo in Fall 2017) is one of Birmingham’s premier luxury boutique hotels. Guests can expect easy access to the UAB Campus and Hospital, The BJCC, The Railroad Park, and, of course, all of the fabulous dining options available within Five Points. Chez Fonfon, Highlands Bar & Grill, Jim ‘N Nicks, Ocean, and Pho Pho Vietnamese & Sushi Bar are all within walking distance of the hotel ensuring guests never go hungry or bored. The interior of the hotel features the finest Brazilian bed linens and hand-selected furnishings from Brazil establishing a contemporary and innovative design. Aloft Birmingham SoHo Square

The Aloft in Homewood is ideal for a family-friendly weekend or staycation with the girls. The hotel is just minutes from Vulcan (guests even have a view of the Iron Man in almost every room!) as well as the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, The Birmingham Zoo, and plenty more fabulous attractions. When staying at Aloft, guests hit the jackpot for dining and shopping options as the hotel just steps away from Zoe’s Kitchen, O’Henry’s Coffee, Urban Cookhouse, Jackson’s, SoHo Social, Jinsei, SoHo Retro, Soca, Shoefly, Theadora Abbeyluxe and tons more.

Last year, Aloft underwent a major renovation creating loft-inspired rooms for guests, a heated indoor pool, an indoor gym, grab-n-go breakfast items, and the Wxyz Bar and Patio, which serves specialty cocktails, pints, and snacks beginning at 4 p.m. each night. The Wxyz also features games including cornhole, giant Jenga, a pool table, and giant, funky furniture for a fabulously fun stay. Our favorite aspect of Aloft is that the lobby features amazing artwork by local artists.
