With an emphasis on timeless design details and natural light, this year’s Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles’ Home for the Holidays Designer Showhouse offers a modern take on a traditional English estate. Now in its 14th year, the striking showhouse is situated in Buckhead’s desirable Randall Mill neighborhood, casting a romantic air with its abundant windows, free-flowing design, and signature features.
Developed by KBD Development and Construction and designed by Harrison Design, the home’s stucco exterior draws inspiration from 19th-century English architect C.F.A Voysey. Designed with an active family in mind, the three-story new build features five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, an open kitchen with an accompanying scullery and pantry, a dining room situated off the foyer, a fireside living room, a private library, an elevator, an in-house suite above the two-car garage, a pool, and an expansive covered porch.
Every room of this breathtaking new construction was designed by one of eighteen respected Atlanta interior designers, each incorporating their signature style into the home, all with the addition of a festive twist. Let’s take a look inside!
Once inside the residence, guests are immediately greeted by a charming holiday haven. In Lauren DeLoach’s dining room, approachable elegance is on full display. The bountiful dining table beckons guests with its gorgeous antique place settings and a luscious layering of deep purple and green accents. The addition of greenery, flowers, and silk ribbon exudes holiday happiness.
At the top of the floating staircase, one can find the luxurious ladies’ lounge, designed by the talented duo Forbes Masters. A panoramic velvety wallcovering of feminine silhouettes commands your attention, as do custom chrome pillows and a striking piece by photo-based artist Tokie Rome-Taylor. Maximalists will love this part of the home, as the use of pattern and color demonstrates that more can, indeed, be more.
Other notable rooms include Huff Harrington Design’s guest suite and Evan Millard’s bedroom. Huff Harrington Design’s chic guest suite highlights include a framed silk scarf, a fringed ottoman, and metallic accents sprinkled throughout. Heirloom furniture combined with modern pieces embodies a magical mix of old and new. Sophisticated and whimsical, Evan Millard’s jewel box of a bedroom is also not to be missed, as it pays homage to Hephaestus, the Greek god of craftsmen, artisans, and sculptors, and features over a dozen original works by the Southeast’s most prolific artists. These two spaces are all about elegance and visual beauty.
Overall, this year’s home showcases traditional and timeless English influences combined with modern design trends — and it’s definitely worth a visit!
