The 2023 Nashville Summer Camp Guide

Travellers Rest Historic House Museum offers a variety of exciting and unique summer camps each year, where campers truly turn history into an adventure and enjoy the next best thing to traveling back in time. They offer a safe, fun, and exciting atmosphere for children ages 7 to 16 who find history, archaeology, storytelling, arts and crafts, and the great outdoors a blast to study and learn. All camps are located on the grounds of the oldest historic home open to the public in Nashville, Tennessee, and focus on a different historical era or theme from the almost 1000 years of history our site covers.

Their week-long day camps from the end of May to early August offer a low camper-to-counselor ratio with no more than 20 campers per session and no more than 35 campers on their spacious eight-acre property at one time. They also offer convenient early care and after-care hours for busy parents on the go. Staff members cherish the opportunity every year to inspire the next generation of historians, archaeologists, historical artisans, and storytellers. It is their mission that, through history and education, your children will emerge from camp with new friends and a greater love for the past!

At Tremont’s summer camps, live and learn inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Tremont offers summer learning experiences that foster an understanding of the beautiful Appalachian mountains and encourage a lifelong appreciation and stewardship of the environment. Campers will experience wonder, ask questions and have fun learning about nature — and themselves! From backpacking in the wilderness to learning about the secret haunts of salamanders, Tremont offers a variety of summer camp opportunities to serve different interests, abilities, and age groups, including camps for the whole family! In the summer, Battle Ground Academy is home to a robust camp program for children ages four and up. With half- and full-day options available, our on-campus programming includes more than 40 camps, ranging from art and cheerleading to coding and soccer. Students can hone their skills in an athletic camp, enjoy a breadth of activities in Cannon Ball Day Camp, or explore new passions in our arts and enrichment programs – or DO IT ALL by participating in multiple sessions throughout the summer. Led by qualified faculty, staff, and coaches, BGA takes pride in creating a friendly, welcoming environment at their camps. Their mission to ignite and nurture student curiosity, intellect, and character shines through interactions with all campers, regardless of their “home” school.

Camp St. Cecilia is a summer program designed to give girls ages 4-17 an opportunity to have fun while learning. Campers experience St. Cecilia Academy’s academics, athletics, and fine arts programs while interacting with faculty, students, coaches, alumnae, and parents. The camps offer excellent instruction for girls by experienced instructors. Each girl attending Camp St. Cecilia will be exposed to skills in various areas to develop her academic and extracurricular interests further.

Currey Ingram Academy Summer Camps are designed to bring out the best in their campers! No matter the camper’s experience level, they aim to encourage the participation of all campers in activities. Counselors are dedicated to inspiring campers to try new activities outside their comfort zones every day. Smaller camp sizes allow counselors and campers to get to know each other personally while keeping your children safe and providing a more individualized experience. Currey Ingram offers a camp that will excite and challenge campers with various interests.

FRA offers a variety of summer programs that nurture and develop students’ passions. Each summer, over 600 students from the greater Nashville area spend between one to six weeks on campus, enjoying thoughtful and engaging camp experiences for enrichment and fun. Whether you are looking for a sports camp, a full-day option for your preschooler, or an academic experience, they have something for everyone. Their goal is to deliver a positive and seamless experience for campers and their families.

Join Harding Academy for summer fun! They have programs for everyone grades PreK through eighth grade. Take on math in Math Blasters, learn to cook in Cooking Around the World, and enjoy the great outdoors in Around About Adventure. Harding offers both half-day and whole-day options. Morning programs run from 8:30-11:30 a.m.; afternoon sessions run from noon to 3 p.m.

Also not to be missed is Harpeth Hall’s premier research-based program STEM Summer Institute, which brings together girls in rising 6th through 12th grades from schools throughout the Nashville area to solve real-world problems as they design, build, and test their own prototype solutions. MBA offers over 100 camps for boys and girls as young as four years old and up to 12th grade. MBA’s camps are well-attended with over 4,000 signups each summer. They offer many different sports-focused options along with fun enrichment camps with themes ranging from Legos and video game design to robotics. Middle school and high school campers can also choose from a variety of academic offerings!
