Trend #1: Bare Face, Glowing Skin
In contrast to the full glam makeup that defined most of the 2010s, beauty is trending toward a more bare-faced, glowy look. Trend #2: Bold and Glossy Lips
In contrast to a bare-faced look, bold and glossy lips are also trending in beauty this year. With spring on the horizon, adding a pop of color in the form of a fun lip can be a great way to welcome warmer weather.
“You can go super fun with a bright pink or a magenta for the color of the year, a pretty glowy and glossy red, or a natural, ‘your lips, but better’ color,” Mary Kathryn shares. “You can still do the bare-faced trend and then pop your lip.”

Trend #3: Blush
Blush is back! Whether we have six more weeks of winter or warm, sunny days are right around the corner, blush provides a beautiful sunkissed pop of color with just the swipe of a brush. Complementing both the bare-faced trend and a bold lip, a carefully matched blush can be transformative.

Trend #4: Shimmering Lids

“As women get older, there’s a misconception that you can’t do a shimmer or shine on your lids,” Mary Kathryn shares. “I think the opposite. I think matte is aging. Glowing skin equals younger skin, and a shimmer is always gorgeous.”

Trend #5: Monochromatic Look
Each of these trends can be used simultaneously to achieve a monochromatic look, where one color is used across focal points on the face — think a shimmering pink lid, a pretty pink blush, and a subtle pink lip.
“We’re seeing this a lot in clothing, too, where the look is super simple, pulled together, and classic,” says Mary Kathryn.
