Located in scenic Beersheba Springs, TN, the Tree Lofts is a cluster of four stunning vacation rentals, beautifully appointed and designed to do justice to the surrounding landscape. These tucked-away homes are ideally situated to take advantage of all that Beersheba Springs offers. From outdoor adventures to the privacy to unplug and reconnect, here are four reasons to book one of these properties for your next mountain getaway!
Stunning Views
No matter what Tree Lofts property you stay in, you’re guaranteed to take in sweeping views of the Cumberland Plateau, the Southern region of the Appalachian Mountains. Encouraging you to really take in the sights, every property includes an outdoor sitting area that overlooks the surrounding forest. You’re invited to sit a spell and watch the sunrise with your morning cup of coffee or soak up the sunset with a glass of wine.
Stunning Architecture + Cozy Interiors
In addition to gorgeous views, every property has been thoughtfully designed with a touch of nostalgia. Yet, every house has modern amenities and design elements throughout — from the appliances to the furniture. You can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee every morning, let the dishwasher handle the dishes, and freshen up in a beautifully appointed bathroom.
The Main House
The main house — also known as “Top of the Rock” — was designed by founder Cullen Douglass for his own family. The property offers four bedrooms and three bathrooms, and sleeps up to 10 guests. In addition to sweeping two-story windows that overlook the bluffs, the home includes two spacious dens on the first and second levels and a beautiful covered porch perfect for stargazing or curling up with a good book.
Tree Lofts 1
The second property, Tree Lofts 1, is also an ideal home base for families, large groups of friends, or couples with kids. includes one downstairs bedroom in addition to a loft with a queen bed, twin bed, and two futons. Like the main house, this property offers two-story windows overlooking the surrounding bluffs and landscape. This is also the cluster’s most elevated property, so you’re invited to open the living room doors to allow natural light and the mountain breeze to flood the space. Be sure to also take advantage of the private hot tub on cooler nights.
Tree Lofts 2
Tree Lofts 2 is another excellent option for families or couples. Dubbed “the ship” because it includes sleeping quarters downstairs and living space upstairs (much like a ship), the property sleeps up to seven people and offers a view that could easily be photographed and framed. The interior includes a cozy living area that overlooks and opens up to the outdoors, as well as two bedrooms. Outside, you’ll find a rock staircase that has been built into the mountainside along with a private hot tub.
The A-Frame
The newest property in the Tree Lofts lineup is a stunning A-frame house. The A-frame sleeps up to four individuals, offering a main-level bedroom and a loft with two twin beds. The home exudes a charming 1970s feel with a shag rug and vintage stereo system — complete with vinyl records.
Writer’s Note: I had the pleasure of spending a night at the A-Frame, and it was a fantastic weekend getaway for a pair of friends. We spent the night drinking margaritas and playing board games. The next morning, we lounged around the house and enjoying the views before setting out for a hike. Absolutely perfect!
Outdoor Adventure
The Tree Lofts properties are perfect for anyone looking to unplug and connect with nature. Luckily, there are plenty of opportunities to disconnect and enjoy Tennessee’s natural beauty. Just two miles from Tree Lofts is Greeter Falls, which includes a one-mile loop leading to two stunning waterfalls — the 15-foot Upper Falls and the 50-foot Lower Falls. The hike is relatively easy and is located in Savage Gulf State Park.
For a more advanced hike, you can drive about 35 minutes to the Fiery Gizzard Trail, named one of the top 25 hiking trails in the U.S. by Backpacker Magazine. The main trail is about 13 miles one-way and offers close-up views of some of Tennessee’s most beautiful waterfalls and streams. However, if you’re like me and not an experienced hiker, you can still enjoy the trail by entering through the Foster Falls trailhead. This half-mile hike includes an up-close view of Foster Falls and a swinging bridge perfect for a photo op. However, it’s important to note that most of the terrain is on a hill and a bit rocky.
Stone Door is another popular outdoor destination in the area. About five miles away from the Tree Lofts, this is another relatively easy hike that is almost two miles roundtrip. The trail gets its name from a 10-foot-wide, 100-foot-deep crack in a rock resembling an open door. Be sure to also stop along the way to take in views from any of the nearby overlook areas.
Location, Location, Location
Another distinctive feature of the Tree Lofts is that, while they are secluded and offer plenty of peace and quiet, their location is less than two hours from major Tennessee cities like Nashville and Chattanooga. The drive from Nashville takes about an hour and a half, making it the perfect destination for a quiet weekend away from the city.
Tree Lofts is also near attractions like The Caverns, one of the South’s most unique concert venues. Located underground and about 30 minutes from the rental properties, previous artists have included Moon Taxi, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, The SteelDrivers, and more. Plus, you can arrive early to take a guided tour of the cave system before your concert.
To truly unplug and reconnect with yourself, you can also drive about 45 minutes to the Isha Institute of Inner-Sciences. Located in McMinnville, this non-profit organization is known worldwide for its yoga retreats, yoga classes, and meditation classes.
